Yolanda and I went to see the India Landscape garden in the grounds of the British Museum on Tuesday afternoon.
They had a beautiful peepul tree with exquisitely coloured bark and leaves

Himalayan Potentilla
The thing I was most looking forward to seeing was their banyan tree. It is possibly my all-time favourite tree, I think because it conjures up wonderful memories of Indian trips. Unfortunately this one was a chopped down version (to a manageable, transportable size I guess) and its aerial roots were short. A reminder not to have expectations, it was still a joy to see.The India Landscape is open until 27 September and runs in conjunction with their exhibition Garden and Cosmos – the Royal Paintings of Jodhpur, until 11 October.

How lovely Scarlett - and thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to go down and take a look and your pictures are just the prompt I need.
